Name: The name Agate probably goes back to where the stone was first found, Achates river in Sicily. He was mentioned in writing by the Greeks long before Christ. Agate was also known in ancient Egypt - the coveted scarabs were cut from it.  In ancient times, it was used to decorate clothes and accessories. In ancient Rome, wealthy citizens believed that slices of agate brought them power and wealth. In the Middle Ages, it was even believed that this delicious stone could make the wearer invisible.

Formation: Agate belongs to the oxides group of minerals. It forms primarily under hydrothermal conditions at 100 °C - 200 °C, mainly in cavities and gas bubbles in volcanic rocks or in fissures in sedimentary rocks. As the silicic acid slowly solidifies and dries out, quartz layer by quartz layer (rhythmic crystallization) forms, resulting in the most varied patterns and designs of the agate.
Triangular, Mohs hardness: 7, chemical formula: SiO2

Energy: He cheers up and prevents negative things. He is also supposed to strengthen willpower. Agate is also said to prevent skin diseases, eye problems, kidney diseases and sports injuries.

Agate is one of the lucky stones of those born
in the constellation virgo.
