Turtles in fossilized tree trunks from the island of Java in the Aegean Sea.

Java is a volcanic island and one of about 17,500 islands in an archipelago that has formed on a hot spot not unlike the one on which Iceland stands. The archipelago is called Indonesia and is the fourth most populous country in the world. The fossils are found in rock layers from the Tertiary period or from about 30 – 60 million years ago. These fossilized drums have been found up to meters wide and even 50 meters long. From the wilds of the island they have been transported to the port, sent from there to Brazil and from there come to Europe where they are sawed down, polished and polished. On this same island, fossils of "Homo erectus" or the Java man, who is believed to have lived around 2 million years ago, have been found. "Homo erectus" means the upright man and it is believed that they migrated to Europe and Asia, later when they had the mental capacity to do so. Their main livelihood was chasing animals until they were exhausted. Homo erectus is considered an extinct species, but the translators do not think it is unlikely that the species adapted to Homo sapiens in some way and that contemporary long-distance runners and joggers are their descendants.
